7B Lake Huay Tueng Tao Ride
  




TRIP DESCRIPTION

Northwest of Chiang Mai  along the base of the great Suthep mountain we ride to Huay Tung Thao.  A popular lake with locals who like to visit the shore line restaurants, enjoying the fishing, swimming, cold drinks and more.  You might be asked to eat small live shrimp caught right from the lake. After the customary ride around the lake and a hearty lunch, we head back to the small alleys of Chiang Mai.

7C The Montha Than Waterfalls with Wat Suthep Option
  


TRIP DESCRIPTION

West of Chiang Mai we climb up to Mantha Than Waterfall at the base of the famous Suthep mountain. This one takes some energy, but a cool dip at the falls makes it worthwhile. After a snack we cruise downhill then head south along the foothills, visit Wat Umong and enjoy the greener side of Chiang Mai City.

For strong riders a 2 hr climb up to Doi Suthep temple is an option before heading back down to the Mantha Than Waterfall for a swim.

7D Wiang Kum Kam Ride
  


TRIP DESCRIPTION

Join us on a leisurely ride along the Mae Ping River and experience the rural life around Chiang Mai, its charm and peaceful ambiance.

The River Ride , Wiang Kum Kam As we navigate to the south of the city we cross the the River Ping to visit uncovered remains of an ancient city. Research concluded that this was the ancient city of Wiang Kum Kam, one of many fortified cities built by King Mengrai . The Ride then continues lazily along the river enjoying the rural villages in the south of Chiang Mai . The passing plantation remind us of the fruits in season that must be tasted.

Riding north out of Chiang Mai along the Mae Ping river and then turning east puts us into the spectacular setting of the Mae Ping Valley. Riding through its rice fields we enjoy the wide open space of its rural lush farm land. Small Thai villages on the way provide great local food tasting .

Crusing down through the Suthep National Park past hill tribes villages, the Queen's Palace and a visit to Suthep Temple, magnificent views of Chiang Mai City from way above, this is everyone's all time favorite downhill fun ride.

The only way to see Doi Inthanon National Park... by bike and with a 8000 feet advantage. This ride through the park with its beautiful waterfalls is a life time experience.

The fit Cyclist will long remember this 90km (45km of that uphill) challenging loop starting in Chiang Mai Around Doi Suthep National Park with its idyllic countryside and interesting cultural aspects. Riders need plenty of endurance to brave the long and steep uphills encountered on this ride . the rides ends back in Chiang mai. For those that feel it's a bit to hard , shorter versions with later starting points and earlier retrieval for this beautiful ride are on hand. Vehicle support can be arranged.

The remote area of the upper Mae Taeng Valley features this forgotten road connecting small hill tribe villages in superb mountainscape. Great for fit riding groups and its vehicle support makes it great for a memorable family outing.

A 45 minute drive north of Chiang Mai brings us to the beautiful Mae Ngat Valley. We start out by visiting the amazing Ban Den Temple located at the entrance of the Valley.

Although this trip is not a Temple tour this Wat is hard to miss and makes a great starting point for our ride. Leaving all the glitz and glamour behind we now head into the Valley through open rice fields passing local farmers tending to their crops, experiencing traditional farming.

Cooling off we stop at a local produce markets and see what is on the menu. Relaxed we continue riding through the rural villages to the south of the Valley. Splurging on local fruits and snacks we are now energized for the kayaking leg of our Adventure. The ride left us with new impressions and we are now ready to change pace and leave civilization behind. With help of the favorable current of the Mae Ping River we are now steering our kayaks into the Mae Taeng Jungle Reserve. Only accessible by boat, as nature lovers, we find our peace here in this serene and quiet setting, As bird life accompany us through the Forest Reserve we reach the far south end of the Mae Ngat Valley, where we are usually greated by a kayaking monk, a friend. A cozy Restaurant in a plantation setting awaits us with a well deserved meal and a cold drink.

To Mae Taeng Forest Reserve
Gliding along the southern Mae Nagat valley Forest Reserve

The Mid Valley Trip river section has all the fun turns and twists the Mae Ping river has to offer here in the Mae Ngat Valley. The river challenges us to pick the right line between the sand banks and the river shores. The mighty Ping River here a playful large Creek gives a handful of opportunities to practice our art of river navigation. The Mae Ping river's cool water keeps the immediate environment at a comfortable temperature . The final destination the Mae Tang Forest Reserve ads a continuous alley of large overhanging trees keeping us in the shade. The absence of civilization reminds us how quiet nature can be without modern life present.
